Sales Engineer –  Chester, PA

Fisher Tank Company Sales Engineers work directly with our customers and with vendors, subcontractors, engineers and project owners, as well as with internal engineering, project management, safety and other team members. Our Sales Engineers have the technical skills to develop estimates and proposals and the communication skills to develop customer relationships. Sales Engineers have excellent problem solving skills and the ability to see the big picture while attending to detail. Sales Engineers must be self-directed and able to manage multiple priorities.

Fabricator/Welder
Openings in Chester, PA and Leesville, SC

This candidate must have experience in pipe fabrication and welding, however, this is not a boilermaker position as all the welding is done in a flat position on positioners and rollers. The candidate will be able to follow verbal and written communication well, have strong safety awareness, and have a strong desire to meet Quality and Productivity standards.

  • Fit and weld various sized carbon and stainless pipe flanges.
  • Fit and weld various sized carbon and stainless pipe to pipe while using basic fit up techniques.
  • Read a tape measure down to 1/16.”
  • Operate a MIG welder using .045” Fluxcore wire.

Shop Supervisor – Chester, PA 

The Shop Supervisor is responsible for all materials from the receipt of raw material through delivery to the field construction crews.  He/She ensures that company shop labor and assets are manages to meet or exceed safety, quality, and productivity targets. He/She supervises the Shop Foreman, Welders, Welder fabricators, Material Handlers, and Trucking Companies. The Shop Supervisor works closely with Engineering, Purchasing, Construction and Project Management to schedule work through the shop to maximize production and ensure that field erection crews are supplied the necessary materials to efficiently construct the tanks.

Shop Supervisor

  • Guarantees operating policies are enforced in the shop. Contributes to the ongoing development of operating policies.
  • Drives a culture throughout operations of Safety, Quality, and Productivity and In That Order.
  • Recruiting, hiring, training, evaluating and disciplining, including terminating if necessary, of all positions reporting to the Shop Supervision Manager.
  • Master scheduling of all division fabrication, ensuring organization of all shop resources.
  • Coordination and support all company projects assigned to the division fabrication facility.
  • Managerial support to all shop foremen.
  • Coordination & support with the division maintenance department to ensure proper care and maintenance of plant and equipment.
  • Contribute to the division capital equipment acquisition and replacement planning.
  • Management of safety in the shop.
  • Quality assurance of all shop fabrication.
  • Contributes to the creation, justification and control of shop maintenance & operating budget.
  • Inventory management and control.
  • Management of all material shipments to the jobsites through the use of the companies “bill of materials” system and contracted trucking companies.
  • Jobs cost reporting mid control.
  • Continuous cost improvement evaluations.

Requirements

  • Education – High school diploma with trade school in fabrication methods, particularly welding operations required. Relevant work experience and demonstrated knowledge and ability are a strong substitute for formal education.
  • Experience – A minimum of 5 years experience in shop fabrication with a minimum of 5 years successful management experience required. Require significant experience in the areas of fabrication management.  Successful safety and quality record strongly preferred.
  • Must be bonded or bondable.
  • Must have significant knowledge of steel plate fabrication, and transportation.
  • Must be skilled in coordination multiple projects.
  • Must possess the leadership skills necessary to result in a positive attitude by direct labor toward company policies, goals and intended culture. Leadership ability is similarly demonstrated in the ability to make tough decisions that support the company goals and intended culture.
  • Physical requirements include sitting, walking standing and working in an office and shop environment. Must be capable of climbing ladders.
  • Must be capable of working with basic algebra
  • Must be able to write to effectively communicate with business managers.
  • Requires verbal communication skills to effectively coordinate a multitude of different operations entities.

Traveling Field Painter US Jobsites

Fisher Tank Company operates a Coatings Division that provides expert field painting services for field erected welded steel storage tanks as well as for other industrial applications. Our Coatings Division team works across the country in a variety of facilities.

Job Duties

  • Maintaining and repairing industrial paint and sand blasting equipment (generators, paint sprayers, blast pots, air compressors, etc.)
  • Surface preparation for coatings
  • Painting surfaces using various tools and equipment including brushes, rollers, spray guns
  • Rigging platforms on tanks or other structures to be painted
  • Performing regular housekeeping to maintain a clean and organized jobsite and job trailer
  • Communicating with foreman regularly regarding tasks and procedures
  • Working safely according to Fisher Tank Company Safety Program

Requirements

  • Travel to jobsites across the country is required
  • Effective communication within the Coatings Division as well as other areas of the company is essential
  • Mechanical interests and abilities are key
  • A team-oriented, can-do attitude is a must
  • Must pass pre-employment and random drug-screens
  • Experience in this field a plus but not mandatory for the right person
  • CDL not required
  • Working from heights
